Prince2 Project Method Practitioner Training
Course Aims
To refine the participant's PRINCE2 knowledge and application skills.
The Practitioner training will:
- Expand the participant's understanding of the key principles of the methodology
- Expand the participant's understanding on how to apply key functions such as Project Assurance and Project Controls
- Provide experience in applying project techniques under different situations
- Provide detailed explanations on how various roles can contribute to the control of a project
- Provide detailed explanations on effective application
- Prepare participants for the Practitioner Certification
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Describe the principles and philosophies underpinning project management
- Provide detailed explanations on PRINCE2's elements, their relationships and how they can be applied in different project environments
- Explain and demonstrate how to apply project management tools
- Explain and demonstrate how to effectively apply PRINCE2 to address the needs and problems of a specific project scenario
Who should attend this course?
Project Managers in need of a method to help manage projects of different types and sizes and Project and Programme Support staff wanting to learn how to effectively apply PRINCE2 to projects.
Course Composition
The training is a scenario based training course focusing on the application of PRINCE2 under different project environments and scenarios. Review and revisions sessions of the elements that make up the method are included throughout the training.
Course Prerequisites
Passing the Foundation Exam is a prerequisite to attending the Practitioner course.
We also recommend Practitioner participants complete 10 - 12 hours pre-course work. Our Practitioner pre-course pack will be sent to all participants on payment of course fee.
Practitioner Exam Format
The format of the Practitioner Exam has recently changed. The exam is now in the style of an 'objective' test. This means long hand written answers are no longer part of the exam. Exam participants are presented a number of potential responses to questions and are required to use their knowledge of the method to select the correct response.
The exam will cover 9 of the following topics:
- PRINCE2 Processes
- Business Case
- Project Organisation
- Quality in a Project Environment
- Configuration Management
- Change Control
- Management of Risk
- Plans
- Project Controls
- Product Based Planning
- Quality Review
Questions are presented in the following style:
- Classical multiple choice
- Yes/No
- Multiple response
- Matching
- Sequencing
- Assertion/Reason

The Practitioner exam is a 3 hour open book scenario based exam. The maximum score for the exam is 360 marks. The participant must acquire 180 or more marks to pass the exam.
For open courses the Practitioner course is delivered as a 2 day event. For in-house programs it can be delivered as a 2 day or 3 day event.

Wanting to complete both the Foundation and Practitioner courses? Then you can take advantage of our special Foundation plus Practitioner enrolment prices.
To qualify for the Foundation Plus Practitioner price offer a single application and payment must also be made for both courses. The Practitioner course must be completed within 3 months of completing the Foundation Course.
